What has happened to our world that I once knew ? I don’t believe what is happening in the world- many individuals and groups of individual are being discriminated- I don’t recognize the world So much has changed

You need to be a positive mood. There are some factors that impact your health

Negative self-talk can take a toll on your mood, often reinforcing unhealthy core beliefs or fundamental thought patterns that shape how you feel and behave each day. “Over time, negative self-talk, with its impact on an anxious or depressed mood, can increase the risk of unhealthy coping behaviors, like excessive alcohol or cannabis usage, lack of exercise or nutritious diet, and anxiety and depressive disorders,” says Dr. Ashwini Nadkarni, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Whether it’s work, school, or relationships, persistent and uncontrolled worry can negatively impact both your mental and physical health. “For instance, headaches, sleep disturbance, and gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome are all associated with excessive worrying,” says Ashwini.

Not spending enough time with others can lead to loneliness, a sense of disconnection tied to feeling unsatisfied with the quality of your relationships. Beyond its links to depression and dementia, loneliness has also been tied to serious health issues like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and even premature death, says Ashwini.

Skipping flossing doesn’t just put you at risk for cavities, it also increases your chances of gum disease, a chronic infection that your immune system has to constantly battle. “That low-grade inflammation, and the bacteria in your mouth, have been linked to serious systemic conditions, including heart disease and diabetes,” says Jeremy Manuele, DMD, orthodontist and dentofacial orthopedist.

I eat many vegetables. I eat a variety of vegetables but for the majority I love the cruciferous ones as broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and much more These cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower, are celebrated for their high fiber content and rich supply of vitamins and minerals. However, their health benefits might also be accompanied by less desirable effects on digestion. Not everyone does well with eating these

These vegetables have a undesirable effect due to a sugar Among these is raffinose, a  sugar which remains undigested until it reaches the colon where it is fermented by bacteria, leading to gas and bloating. This effect, while natural, can cause considerable discomfort for many individuals

Raffinose belongs to a group of carbohydrates known as oligosaccharides, which are present in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli. This complex sugar is notoriously difficult for the human body to break down because it lacks the enzyme to fully digest it. When consumed, raffinose makes its way to the large intestine, where it becomes food for bacteria, the byproduct of which is gas.

So now you can see why cruciferous vegetables may be not as desirable for everyone The symptoms of gas and bloating are commonly reported after consuming cruciferous vegetables, and they can range from mild discomfort to severe abdominal pain. These symptoms arise from the fermentation of undigested carbohydrates like raffinose, which produces hydrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide gases. Such symptoms are not only uncomfortable but can also be embarrassing and disruptive to daily life.

This can lead to SIBO - small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. I suggest getting a food sensitivity test Ig G and even look at the liost of foods that you might be sensitive to based on blood type

Today is my 65th birthday I am a grateful blessed and humble man

As President of the American Apitherapy Society join a colleague of mine of June 22nd 2025

Dr. Jörg Mayer Clinical cases in which apitherapy was used for various exotic animal cancer patients are the focus of this lecture scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025. Each case has contributed to the ever-growing and exciting eld of clinical apitherapy. Hopefully, we can continue to learn more about the in vivo application of bee venom, honey, and other products to benet affected animals and then translate that knowledge to human medicine. The lecture highlights cases where traditional oncological therapies, such as chemotherapy and adjuvant therapies like radiation, were not viable options. The owners were informed about the experimental nature of the therapy. Due to the advanced stage or aggressive nature of the cancer in these patients, the only other alternative to apitherapy was humane euthanasia. The cancer patients experienced signicant remission time with bee venom therapy (BVT), and some even received honey as intravenous infusions, all without any adverse side effects. Clinical pathology monitoring during the treatment revealed that all physiological parameters shifted towards normal values if they were abnormal at the start of the therapy. When necropsies were performed, no toxicological changes were noted in any organs, despite multiple venom and honey infusions. While much information on apitherapy originates from in-vitro experiments or even human case reports, the exchange of information between practical veterinary apitherapy and human apitherapy can only benet all parties involved, thereby moving the science forward. The most common are food sensitivities for which I do a Ig G food sensitivity test Not a Ig E food which is immediate sensitivity but rathere a gut related sensitivity

I then test for toxicity as in mold, metals and glyphosate This is a rather intensive search for a cause. There are treatments for mold/glyphosate toxicity as well as metal toxicity

Hormonal changes can be a cause of migraines. I do blood, saliva and urine testing for hormones Some people find that their episodes are triggered by low blood sugar and/or skipped meals, not enough sleep, and consumption of alcohol or tobacco.

Once we find the cause there are many supplement and herbal treatments as Jamaican dogwood, and Butterbur as herbs. Feverfew can also be used

A new study from researchers in Taiwan is shining a light on flavopereirine, a natural compound extracted from the bark of the Pao pereira tree. Their findings suggest it may help slow the growth of thyroid cancer cells, offering hope for gentler, more natural treatment options.

What Is Pao Pereira?

Pao pereira (pronounced pow-puh-REY-ruh) is a tree native to the Amazon rainforest. Its bark contains flavopereirine, a powerful plant alkaloid that has attracted increasing interest for its ability to support the body’s natural defenses — especially in cancer care — without damaging healthy cells.

What Did the Study Find?

In both laboratory and animal models, flavopereirine was shown to:

  • Slow the growth of multiple thyroid cancer cell types

  • Trigger apoptosis, the body’s natural process for eliminating harmful cells

  • Prevent cancer cells from dividing, making it harder for the disease to spread

  • Disrupt key survival mechanisms like autophagy, which cancer cells often exploit

A groundbreaking study published by researchers at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Australia revealed that melittin, the active compound in honeybee venom, can selectively kill aggressive breast cancer cells, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and HER2-enriched types.

These types are particularly difficult to treat due to their resistance to conventional therapies.

Key findings include:

Melittin disrupted the cancer cells’ plasma membranes and interfered with signaling pathways essential for tumor growth.

Within 60 minutes, melittin was able to significantly reduce the viability of cancer cells.

Most notably, the venom did not affect normal breast cells, highlighting its therapeutic potential.

The study also suggested combination therapy with chemotherapy, showing enhanced effectiveness.

However, it's important to note that this research is still in the preclinical phase, primarily conducted in lab settings and mice.

Further clinical trials in humans are necessary to confirm its safety and efficacy before being considered a treatment option.

Do you wat any superfoods ? What quantifies a superfood. There was a recent study about superfoods and these questions 870 Registered dieticians were polled I thought the study was great to hear a consensus since we all have different opinions. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), named cranberries, bone broth, and spinach as some of the top superfoods of 2025.

Superfoods like berries, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and ancient grains are packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. These nutrient-dense options support immune health, digestion, heart and brain function, and help combat inflammation These superfoods are not only nutritious, but also accessible, versatile, and easy to prepare.

For me fermenetd foods are alkways in the top 10. Touted for their all-star gut health benefits, fermented foods such as yogurt, pickles, kimchi, and kombucha have long been considered superfoods. Additionally, many fermented foods are also plant-based and boast impressive immunity benefits

A list would not be complete without berries . Berries worth buying for their excellent health benefits include cranberries, blueberries, and raspberries I could not do without berries I consume berries daily- different types every other day. Small but mighty, all berries are a great source of antioxidants, including immune-boosting vitamin C. Berries also provide satiating fiber and have anti-inflammatory properties

Seeds are also important I do not think individuals consume enough seeds. There are plenty of healthy seeds to choose from, and some of the most nutrient-dense options include chia seeds and hemp seeds. While tiny, these healthy powerhouses are loaded with antioxidants and fiber, so they support healthy digestion, lower cholesterol, stabilize blood sugar levels, and keep you full after meals

Bone broth made the list but something I wouldn’t have considered ten years ago. Leafy greens makes my top ten. Kale has appeared on the list in years past, but spinach is a new addition to the leafy greens category. And while kale and spinach are nutritionally similar, the latter is a superior source of iron and potassium, making it the better choice

Please do not forget avocados and nuts. Try to consume 5 of these superfoods weekly.

MAY 28, 2025 INSECT BITES

Summer is approaching . Insect stings and bites are common Some may cause discomfort, unless you suffer from a severe allergic reaction. The best course of treatment is to soothe the pain and reduce swelling. Of course, you could get the stinger out. The stinging insect ( as the honeybee) inject the toxin through a stinger at the tail end of the abdomen. The reaction is usually local, but if occurs in the mouth or buccal mucosa of the cheek can be a problem I get stung on purpose from my honeybees. It is good for the immune system I also sting patients in my office using my bees. Bee venom contains more than 100 different natural compounds

Some quick remedies:

A. FOLK REMEDIES
1. Some old folk remedies are to use the juice of a cucumber, onion or radish to sooth the pain
2. Bathe in baking soda and water if stung all over the body
3. Compress with apple cider vinegar and /or lemon juice
4. I use fresh garlic on the wound

B. HERBAL REMEDIES
1. Marigold petal on a bee bite
2. Cover the bite with a macerated plantain leaf
3. Witch hazel is great , but not effective on bee stings, but better on mosquito bites

C. HOMEOPATHY
1,  Apis can be used once the stinger is removed. I use Boiron 30 C
2. Hypericum can be used with great results

To make an insect bite oil:

1. 1 teaspoon of lavender essential oil
2. 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

Combine and place directly on the bite. Store the bottle in a glass bottle with a tight lid. Glass bottles better than plastic.

To make a bite/sting poultice

1. 1 tablespoon of echinacea root tincture
2. 1 tablespoon of distilled water
3. 1/2 tsp of lavender essential oil
4. 1 tablespoon of beconite clay

Combine the  mixture and then add to the clay. Stir slowly till all absorbed. The paste should be tacky enough to stick to the skin. Apply directly to the bite and store in a glass container in a cool place.
